Bobbie Edwards lives in Austin, Texas despite the heat and despite the disproportionate ‘red’-ness of the Lone Star State. Life drug her back home from Brooklyn, NY to support her mom, dad, and grandmother.
She has felt a strong-pull towards Nature since she was a little girl: Perhaps it is the 2 lines of Native American blood? Perhaps it is because she grew up barefoot in the yard with a Shetland Pony? Perhaps it is because her parents shared with her the wonders of a simple camping trip?
She is immensely grateful to be able to pursue her interests concerning environment issues while she writes for Mongabay as an intern; is a Literature Reviewer at Rainforest Partnership; and is a Climate Leader with Climate Reality Project.
She paints watercolor abstractions of the human figure and objects. She is a modern dancer. She is a BCBA Education Consultant for Special Needs Individuals and their families. Bobbie has 2 MS degrees and recently completed a permaculture design course with Humustacia Permaculture Gardens, in Upstate NY. Currently, she volunteers at Blackshear Elementary in their school garden project.
