Sandhya finished a PhD in ecology from the Centre for Ecological Sciences in the Indian Institute of Science, where she worked on butterfly movement patterns. During her PhD, she realised that she liked the amazing stories from science rather than the nitty gritties that go with each study. She has now changed tracks, and is doing an MA from the UK. For this website, she plans to write about what is special about Indian ecology and wildlife - not just about the charismatic species everyone reads about, but also about the lesser known ones that are equally special. When she is not writing or reading, she loves travel, especially unplanned trips to surprising new places. You can follow her on Twitter, and visit her website to read more of her work.
