Tanya started her internship for Mongabay in May 2013. She currently works as a freelance journalist covering a variety of stories: from climate change and conservation to toxics and natural resource exploitation. Her motivation to work on environmental issues comes from her conviction that we do not inherit the world from our parents; we borrow it from our children.
Tanya went to University of California Berkeley for graduate school and University of London for her undergraduate in Environmental Science. Previously, she worked as a cardio-vascular technician, paramedic, life model, English teacher and an Army sergeant. Her most precious collection consists of the 5 continents she has lived and worked on and the 50+ countries she has visited in her travels. You can read Tanya’s environmental articles and travel stories on her blog.
